Pickerel for dinner...maybe snack

Grandma Dale gives a demonstration of how fish cleaning is done...to a very attentive audience. 2 pickerel caught with a special lure recommended by Grandpa Spence.

Ginger and the Snapping Turtle

Once upon a time, in a lake as smooth as a mirror, with a sky sporting big chubby clouds whose shadows created puzzles on the aquatic surface...Miz Ginger was taking a meandering swim, gently paddling backwards while having a casual conversation with those on the dock, when she felt her leg kick what she thought was a submerged log, "Dang", she thought, "I don't remember seeing that branch" All of a sudden, a yellow and black striped head popped up 10 inches away from Miz Ginger's nose...
...An indignant look from the Snapping Turtle, a scream from our swimmer...who then proceeded to paddle faster than she had since college toward the dock hooting and a' hollering all the way.

Moral to our fragmented tale...never underestimate the look of a snapping turtle. Can motivate one to perform Olympic Feats

Pickeral says...wrong place, wrong time

upstate state of mind

the air breezes around your skin like a gentle swoosh...not the biting chill of our bay area fog.
Jumping into the lake for the first swim...not knowing if its going to be the breath sucking whoa or the ahhh nice paradise...either way , its amazing...
the leaves on the trees flutter light to dark greens as the breeze passes over them
it',s quiet except for the bizz buzz of the cicadas and the hush of the wind in the pine trees,
and now the kids are down on the dock...jumping into the lake, goofing around, having plain ol' simple fun for the time being.
